A Pakistani court has ordered a stay on the deportation of more than 100 Turkish teachers accused of links to a supposed terrorist organisation.

After visa extensions were refused the teachers as well as their families have been told to leave Pakistan.

These teachers were employed in more than 28 “PakTurk” schools, which Turkey says are linked to US-based Turkish preacher Fethullah Gulen, But schools denied the statement.

Turkey accuses of being behind the unsuccessful coup of July, Mr Gulen denied it clearly.

The Lahore High Court instructed the interior ministry to submit a reply to the court in January and has delayed the abrupt deportation order for at least 100 teachers.

The Pakistan Express Tribune reports that both Peshawar High Courts and the Sindh additionally shielded teachers in those regions. The Dawn paper reports that the court in Islamabad refused to hear the case.

Since the unsuccessful coup of July, Turkey has cracked down on groups or any people considered to possess links.

Thousands of men and women out of every level of society happen to be purged from their occupations, including school teachers, government officials and senior military officers.

Critics of President Erdogan say the coup effort has been used by him of removing his competitors as a means.
