At least 11 people have died following a fire in a four star resort in the town of Karachi, Pakistan.
The fire started on the bottom floor of the Regent Plaza hotel in the kitchen, before propagating through the building, local media report.
More than 70 people were injured as the fire stuck guests with few getaway choices, driving some to fashion makeshift ropes.
Television footage revealed knotted lines of sheets hanging from the windows in the building.
“We also needed to leap midway, as the bed sheets were not long enough.”
Other guests were saved by firemen with ladders in the right or left side of the building.

Many guests said they were compelled to make their particular getaway using any means necessary
Inna Iqbal, another resort guest, said she needed to prevent breathing before escaping over the rooftops by ladder.
“We were attempting to simply minimize the smoke damage,” she told reporters.
“All patients are secure and safe. And we’ve just five patients now left in the crisis,” she said. “The remaining people that perished on the spot, maybe, were 11.”
Three physicians were among the casualties, she included.
