Either Mark Wahlberg or Diddy will be $250,000 richer after Floyd Mayweather takes on Manny Pacquiao on May 2.
Diddy is predicting Mayweather will win, while Wahlberg is throwing his support behind Pacquiao. The friendly wager started at $100,000 before Wahlberg upped the ante to $250,000, per Showtime Sports:Well, here’s Diddy and Mark Wahlberg making a $250,000 bet on the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight … like it ain’t no thing.
Diddy’s got Floyd. Mark’s got PacMan.
The best part of the video is how casually these guys throw around their dough. In fact, the bet started at $100,000 … but Mark wanted to know, “Why so little?”
For the record, the man who’s wagering the MOST on the fight isn’t even in the video … it’s 50 Cent — who says he’ll be plunking down $1.6 MILLION on Floyd.
Both of the stars have countless millions in the bank, so that kind of figure is just a drop in the water in terms of their overall net worth.
Plus, that bet is nothing compared to the $1.6 million 50 Cent said he planned to bet on Mayweather.
At least the fight is still happening. “Mayweather vs. Pacquiao” was in jeopardy as late as Wednesday morning, as both parties had yet to sign their contracts. In the end, it was too much money to leave on the table and pen met paper in time to finalize the May 2 pay-per-view (PPV), set for MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
