Fifteen years back, he made the line, “It Is all about loving your parents,” renowned through his movie, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2011). Now, film-maker Karan Johar feels that his next production, Kapoor & Sons, is “particular”, as it marks a “huge shift from ‘loving your parents’ to ‘understanding your kids’.”

At the trailer launching of the Shakun Batra directorial, Karan, who has again teamed up with Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt for this film (after Student Of The Year; 2012), said the “versatile” Sidharth has “gone from strength-to-strength” in his career till now. About Alia, who Karan shares a close bond with, he added, “She might end up inheriting some of my properties and whatever money I’m left with.”

Interestingly, Karan disclosed that Pakistani performer Fawad Khan, who also stars in the movie, and he is his mom’s (Hiroo Johar) favourite. He explained, “He is the only actor my mother blushes on seeing.” The film-maker even made some light-hearted remarks about Shakun: “Regardless of what his height is, he has made a very tall film. It has a different perspective on family.”
