Following the launch of Jawani Phir Nahi Ani (JPNA) the local film industry has seen pin drop quiet in the neighborhood box office. With foreign launches unable to stir up the exact same delight as films that were local, Ho Mann Jahaan faced an uphill task.
Given its successful opening, the film looks nicely on course to get a Rs50 million weekend; a landmark expected by the producers ahead of its release.
As no important movies released within the weekend, Ho Mann Jahaan failed to face much competition, and with all the hoopla surrounding Shah Rukh Khan’s Dilwale the film is on course for an impressive opening week.
“Ho Mann Jahaan earned around Rs15 million on day one but day two saw a steady increase in box office returns with the film going on to record earnings in the range of Rs17.5 million,” stated an official of ARY Films.
Where theater owners were viewing as a significant barrier the long runtime of the movie, them have impressed. Managing Director of Mandviwalla Entertainment, Nadeem Mandviwalla stated the movie recorded a consistent turnout of over “95%” to the weekend.
“Apart from the early morning and the late night shows, the movie has seen full occupancy,” he said. Mandviwalla additionally added that the week that was forthcoming was not looking worse for Ho Mann Jahaan because of the large number of advance bookings.
Ho Mann Jahaan premiered across 85 displays in Pakistan on January 1.
