Apple Inc Chief Executive Tim Cook will visit India and meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, two sources knowledgeable about the issue said on Monday.
There is solid reason behind his visit as Apple seeks new growth markets such as India after posting its first-ever decline in iPhone sales.
Cook, who is visiting China after declaring a $1 billion investment in Chinese ride-hailing app Didi Chuxing, will fly to the country(india) as the head of the US technology company on Tuesday in his first official visit to India, one of the sources said.
The sources declined to be named as the strategy isn’t public. Apple declined to provide details of Cook’s agenda in India.
