It’ll be the 9th pocket cinema film festival of its own types of the world, featuring such films, pictures and documentaries that are produced using a pocket sized mobile phone in place of other filmmaking equipment and normal movie cameras. The Smartphone Film Festival has been sponsored in Pakistan in collaboration from Macedonia, and the USA, Spain, New Zealand, France. In the festival, the ‘School of Smartphone Film Production’ will be inaugurated, followed by the introduction of a ‘Web TV.’ The selected films and pictures from around the planet will undoubtedly be shown in a two-day picture carnival, that will help the global filmmaking stadium is entered by Pakistan.
A total of 1017 movies from more than 110 nations, including Pakistan, have now been submitted by young filmmakers while the final date of submission is December 5, 2015.
The iSmart Films is already conducting free workshops and training programs in different schools and universities to educate modern filmmaking and reporting techniques via smartphones. A curriculum is also being designed by international experts to teach mobile journalism to contribute to the social development of a nation. “A new industry is emerging in Pakistan which will create tens of thousands of employment opportunities for the local youth, who are able to now show their mettle globally simply by using their mobile phones,” Abid Beli, Founder iSmart Films, said.
