Akshay Kumar has created a brand new record in 2016 which even Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan couldn’t break, but seems like the record’s not for long to stay as reported by BollywoodLife earlier. After not so great last few years, Shah Rukh Khan’s not just all set to bounce back and reclaim his throne, but he’s gonna break a number of records on the way too and one such record is Akshay Kumar’s Rs 100 crores hattrick in an individual year.
Yes, if all goes well, SRK’s going to have three releases in one year for the very first time in last decade.
Come 2017, if all goes as plan and we’ll have Raees on Republic Day weekend, The Ring was tentatively titled by Imtiaz Ali’s and next dwarf picture is ’sed by Anand L Rai during Christmas weekend. Raees which was assumed to release on Eid 2016 was postponed to 2017, that might turn out to be a blessing in disguise for this SRK starrer as this movie has been his most talked about in modern times. Shah Rukh Khan has commenced shooting for Imtiaz Ali’s next alongside Anushka Sharma in Prague and he’ll be beginning Anand L Rai’s next by the end of the year.
Apart from the hit success of Chennai Express and critically acclaimed Buff in addition to Raees in particular, I believe, is going to be litmus test for SRK as his last few years has been mediocre critically. But that’s not what people expect from King Khan, it’s not merely quick bucks at the box office, for that you have Salman Khan, it’s more about the shelf life and quality of pictures amalgamated with the big box office success which he’s been doing successfully in his 24 years long career.
But not to forget here, Akshay overly will have launches next year. So it’ll be interesting to observe how his accomplishment will be defended by the Airlift performer and how Shah Rukh Khan will attempt to go past it!
