Suicide bomb attack on army training camp in Yemeni city of Aden kills at least 40 people, aid officials say.
According to the official, the attacker drove his vehicle into a party of new recruits at the camp in northern Aden, warning that the death toll in the bombing could increase.
“Security services are still evacuating the dead and wounded” from the site, the official said.
The port city, the temporary base of Yemen´s Saudi-backed authorities, has seen a wave of bombings and shootings targeting security forces and officials.
Strikes in Aden are frequently maintained by jihadists from either Al-Qaeda or the Islamic State group, which have both taken advantage of the mayhem in Yemen to make increases in southern and southeastern areas.
More than 6,600 people, mainly civilians, have been killed in Yemen since March 2015 and more than 80 percent of the population has been left in need of humanitarian aid, according to the UN.
