BREAKING NEWS! Earthquake jolts parts of Islamabad, K-P

Powerful tremors were felt across Islamabad and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K P) on Saturday.

The quake strike on many areas including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Malakand and Hazara among others. According to the K-P Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), the epicentre of the quake was found in the Hindu Kush.

In wake of the tremors, many individuals vacated buildings and their dwellings fearing aftershocks. No lack of life or damage to property was reported so far.

“An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.4 struck Pakistan at 0804 GMT, 117 kilometers east of the Swat Valley city of Mingaora, at a depth of 43.4 km,” the US Geological Survey said.

In August, areas of China and Pakistan jolted. Tremors were felt in adjoining places and Islamabad.
