Chad Kroeger and Avril Lavigne end up

Musician Chad Kroeger and vocalist Avril Lavigne have split after a couple of years of union.

“It’s with [a] heavy heart that Chad and that I declare our separation today. Through not just the union, but the music at the same time, we have created many unforgettable moments,” she tweeted on Wednesday.

To all our family, buddies as well as supporters, thanks truly for the support.”

The reason behind their break is not clear but the Nickelback frontman apparently has been telling folks that their union is on the stone.

“It is finished. He continues to be going around Los Angeles telling folks that they’re divorcing,” a source previously said.

As soon as they worked on her fifth studio album, Kroeger and Lavigne, 40, began dating in the year 2012.

The couple was strike with break up rumours a year ago, which both denied.

She was formerly wed to Sum 41’s Deryck Whibley.
