The tinsel town is usually held responsible for having views. Be it an actor or celebrities when they open their mouths to share the elephant in the room and both of them equally have their necks under butcher’s knife. But when they raise their voices, their views come underneath the scanner plus they’ve been subjugated for the exact same. The high profile stars are subsequently stuck in never-ending discussions that become daily headlines and subject of discussion for the who is who of the united states.
So when Rajeev Masand inquired Anushka Sharma, Deepika Padukone, Kalki and Richa Chaddha for their viewpoints, the women this time failed to hold it back.

An actor has a responsibility to deliver as much in their job as an actor just like a banker would in their job. The choice to voice their opinion is personal. It is fantastic if you talk about something that you know a lot about and you are passionate about and you can do something about but every actor to be an activist on every topic is ridiculous.

If you take a stand and you don’t agree with everyone and if you do then you are put on a pedestal. God forbid if your opinion disagrees then you know what happens and if you don’t take a stand then you are just branded as someone who never takes stands and you are in a place of power and you still don’t say anything. It is very difficult. Bollywood is just crucified for anything that happens in the country.

It doesn’t need to be a project is what I am saying. It doesn’t have to be like since I am an actor I need to take up this and that and this. It’s a personal choice. When the Censor Board was acting all crazy at that time NH10 was stuck there so I was speaking a lot about it but because affecting me and affecting the industry. So my voice becomes louder and more stronger because there’s so much more at stake but if you are generally going to be a voice for everything, it doesn’t mean that something is going to happen.

It’s a serious problem. Actors are role models. I am sorry find better role model. Don’t put actors and cricketers who already are dealing with a lot… not every one of us are mature to take in everything that comes our way. You get so much unnecessary flake for so many things. Why can’t we find better role models?
