US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has launched a rare attack on Michelle Obama, saying “all she needs to do is campaign” for his competition.

He also accused of attacking Hillary Clinton in 2007 by invoking a line she had said about fitness to run the White House the first lady,.

The line had been denied by the Obama campaign.

If he failed to accept the election result Mrs Clinton accused Mr Trump of endangering democracy.

“We know the difference between leadership and dictatorship, and the peaceful transition of power is among the things that sets us apart,” she told a crowd in Cleveland, Ohio.

“Donald Trump refused to say that he’d respect the results of the election. By doing that, he is threatening our democracy.”

“But wasn’t she the one that originally began the statement, ‘If you can’t take care of your house,’ right? ‘You can not take care of the nation or the White House?’ Where’s that? I do not hear that. I do not hear that.”

A remark Mrs Obama made in 2007 while campaigning for her husband, who was running against Mrs Clinton was being referred to by the Ny businessman.

“If you can’t run your own house, you certainly can not run the White House”.

Some critics inquired whether the remark was aimed at the relationship of Mrs Clinton with her husband, former President Bill Clinton.

But the Obama campaign maintained the line had not been directed at the Clintons and instead referred to their own struggle with parenting during a campaign.

“So, we have fixed our programs to ensure our girls are first, so while he’s traveling around, I do day trips,” Mrs Obama continued in her 2007 address.

“That means I get up in the morning, I get the girls ready, I get them away, I go and do excursions, I am home before bedtime.”

The occasion, which occurs offers a chance to crack jokes to presidential nominees.

“The room did get a little uncomfortable,” he added.
