LAHORE: A Lahore sessions court on Thursday granted bail while adjourning until October 1 the next hearing of a case filed against her by her alleged former husband Atiqur Rehman.

The performer, who appeared in court today, was granted bail against surety bonds worth Rs 50,000.

Before today, she was held in judicial custody after her delayed coming in court in judicial custody.

Meera ‘s counsel asserted that her alleged former husband Atiqur Rehman is blackmailing the star via a forged and forgery marriage certificate and termed the entire exercise an effort to malign the performer who’s a receiver of civil awards.

Atiq had previously filed a case alleging that one Captain Naveed while she was in wedlock was wed by Meera.

After reports of a tiff between Atiq and Meera surfaced, she denied being married to him. Atiq alleged the performer had threatened to have him had snitched furniture from a home which he’d gifted to her, and killed. Meera, subsequently, had also sought to file a case against Atiq for trying and threatening to kill her.
