ISLAMABAD: A high level promotion board on Tuesday approved promotion to the position of Lieutenant General of four Major Generals including Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asim Bajwa.
The board headed by Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif additionally promoted Major General Amir Riaz, Major-General Major-General and Sadiq Ali Umar Farooq Durrani.
In Dera Ismail Khan as a general officer commanding, Bajwa was posted prior to his appointment by COAS Gen Ashfaq Pervez Kayani.
Under the direction of Bajwa, the army conducted military operations in the South Waziristan tribal area to get rid of militancy and re-establish peace.
Bajwa had served under Pervez Musharraf as the deputy military secretary.
In accordance with the report, Ali had attempted to recruit Riaz in HuT, but had failed.
While Major General Durrani is serving as Vice Chief of Major General Sadiq and General Staff is General Officer controlling Bahawalpur.
The recently-promoted three star generals will soon be posted within another two months to new places from the Pakistan army.
