The actor, who starred in films like ‘Lagaan’, ‘Mangal Pandey’ and ‘Rang De Basanti’, said for him patriotism means helping the society and people to improve their lives. “For patriotism, it’s necessary to get love in your heart, sensitivity to the society and people. That is patriotism for me.”

This past year, Aamir’s remarks on growing intolerance in the state had evoked sharp responses. The celebrity, who turned 51 today, said no matter what he really does, certain folks will always raise questions against him.”What I believe is bulk of the audience knows me. My relationship with them has been of over 27 years. So that the people who question me are biased against me. Negative folks are few in number but since they yell we believe there are too many.” Aamir had clarified that neither he nor his own wife had any intention of leaving the state, after the controversy broke out over his comments.

The Bollywood star, that has partnered with the BJP-led state government to improve the water disaster situation in Maharashtra, also appealed to people to have a dry Holi this season. “I was on born on Holi. I request everyone to use water that is minimal. When they do not use any water afterward great. Have a dry Holi, please worth water.
