Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati continues to be grabbing headlines ever since the filmmaker declared that the film is being made by him. The much discussed movie will eventually go on floors with Shahid Kapoor, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. But the cast was not a simple job for SLB, particularly locating the actor for the part of Padmavati’s husband Raja Rawal Ratan Singh. There were reports that before Bhansali took this character to Shah Rukh Khan and nothing got finalised.

Additionally there were was a strong buzz that SLB even approached SRK to play the lead Allauddin Khilji, but all that never happened and it was merely a baseless rumour.
Also casting Shahid Kapoor as Deepika Padukone’s husband was an enormous job for SLB. He was a King who loses his entire kingdom, power as well as his wives to Sultan Allauddin Khilji. So no HERO was comfy to play the part. But eventually his states were agreed with by Sasha. There were reports that Shahid demanded a script change which created a rift between SLB and Ranveer. However Bhansali managed to make both his male heads happy. Additionally not only script changes, his fees were hiked by Sasha. BollywoodLife only reported that Bhansali consented to pay the actor Rs 9-10 crore for the character. Really this film will be one of the most memorable ones for SLB.
