MS Dhoni: The Untold Story starring Sushant has hit it out of the park in terms of box office groups. Right from Day 1, it is breaking records big time and has opened to some thunderous beginning! And can you believe it, the film is 1 picture at Chennai box office between September 30 – October 2! Yes, it has defeated even first Tamil films to take the top position – No.5 #Pink,No.4 #IruMugan, No.3 #Thodari, No.2 #AandavanKattalai, No.1 #MSDhoniTheUntoldStory. On friday itself, the truth is movie critic Sreedhar Pillai had revealed to us how the opening had been that of a big Tamil hero. Looks like the cricketer is not any less a star off the field. The picture on its first day made a whopping Rs 1.85 crore in Tamil Nadu, only to add another Rs 2.10 crore to the amount. So the film has rocked the Tamil nadu box office with a total of Rs 3. The Three day figures at Tamil Nadu BO are yet to be outside. Well, this is a superb group for a Tamil version of a Bollywood film.
Well, looks like the cricketer isn’t just hitting sixes but across theatre halls! Nobody can get enough of that’s and this popular star cricketer why the movie on its first day got a whopping Rs 21.30 crore! Yes, that’s right, and on its second day, a stupendous Rs was rolled up by the film. 41.90 crore! This can be the second largest opener after Sultan! And its Sunday sets happen to be an unbelievable Rs 24.10, making the total to Rs 66 crore! The journey to the 100 crore club is already halfway over! Looks like the picture will be shortly entering the team that is 100 crore and it’s not surprising! Even in Bangalore, the film opened greatly with 60-65% occupancy over 75-80 screens.
