X Factor contestant Joe Waller revealed he has quit the show – after determining it wasn’t the “best thing” for his career.

On Sunday night’s episode of the ITV talent show, the 23-year-old primary school teacher from Hampshire got four “yeses” from judges. However, the vocalist will not be appearing at Boot Camp.

Based on The Mirror, on Sunday he posted on-line to tell his followers: “So mid week I received a totally arbitrary email from the X Factor Team. Although I made the decision to not continue in the programme because I felt it was the best thing for my career at that time, they have made a decision to air my audition.

“SO I PROMISE I DIDN’T LIE ABOUT ANYTHING… But they have chosen to air my audition even though I chose to leave.”

Joe’s post ends: “So come 8pm tonight I will be on The Xfactor… tune in because it will be interesting either way.”

On Sunday night’s show, Rita Ora flirted with Joe after he took to the stage to sing a song he’d composed, Stay. “Thank you for making my eyes light up,” she said, while Simon Cowell joked: “Oh god, not again.”

Despite discontinuing the ITV talent show, Joe is apparently looking on the bright side about new fans of his music.

This morning he posted on his Facebook page: “So last night was a crazy. But it’s an amazing feeling to have all these new people that I can share my music with.”
