Lucky Salman Khan: family drama earns Rs 193.22 crore in 11 days
Salman Khan and Sonam Kapoor-starrer Prem Ratan Dhan Payo is rulling all over box office as it added another Rs 20.4 crore during this weekend, to take its overall tally to Rs 193.22 crore at the end of 11 days.
The Film is going great and loved by Salman khan’s fans.
As trade analyst Taran Adarsh reveals, “#PremRatanDhanPayo is nearing Rs 200 cr [Week 2] Fri 5.50 cr, Sat 6.70 cr, Sun 8.20 cr. Total: Rs 193.22 cr. Hindi version. India biz.”
The only film of the year geting all the positive remarks. Even though the film received mixed reviews and mixed reactions from the audience, the film has maintained a good occupancy. In fact, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo has performed well this weekend even though a popular film like Spectre released and it seems that the film will continue to hold its position at the cinemas for a longer time than projected. As exhibitor and distributor Akshaye Rathi explains,
“Prem Ratan Dhan Payo appeals to the older population and families in the Tier II and II cities, so it will still hold a good occupancy even though films like Spectre, Tamasha and Hate Story 3 release. The other films appeal to the young, metropolitan crowd and not the audience that watches PRDP. The film will easily cross 200 crore soon.”
