NBC made a decision to trash the job completely and had purchased thirteen episodes of the newest show, but just made a pilot. In accordance with Deadline, Nelson will be paid for all thirteen episodes.

Coach starred Nelson at Minnesota State University as the trainer of a Big Ten football team, and ran from 1989 to 1997. The series’ first writer, Barry Kemp, was set to go back to compose the newest show.

Coach would have additionally starred Malcolm Barrett and Bill Fagerbakke, and was initially set for midseason, but was never given a premier date.
