Urdu poet Dr Jamiluddin Aali and scholar passed away in Karachi, an exclusive TV channel reported.
Aali had not been well for several years and had been treated in a private hospital. The 90-year old was suffering from respiratory associated illness and diabetes. He’s left behind two daughters, three sons and his own wife.
The poet – whose family migrated from India to Pakistan in 1947 – was awarded a number of awards for his accomplishments in the Urdu literature.
Aali also stayed chairman to get an interval of three years. His most celebrated national songs are Jeevay Jeevay Pakistan Aye Watan Ke Sajelay Jawanoo and Mera Paigham Pakistan, which may were sung Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Shahnaz Begum and by Noor Jehan .
In another development, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif expressed serious grief on the demise of the Urdu literary figure. Prime Minister lauded Aali’s literary services for the country and prayed for eternal peace.
