Veere Di Wedding continues to be in the news from the time it has been announced. And while lots of people are eagerly anticipating the film, we discover that there might be a delay. This month the job was assumed to go on floors,, but will go on floors. The rationale? We hear the makers need Kareena Kapoor to give before she starts shooting for the film. The actress was ready to shoot, but we’re told the VFX cost of covering her baby bump was turning out to be rather high, changing the entire budget of the picture.
Seemingly, the manufacturers happen to be asking for Rs 34 crores for the project, but the producers at Balaji weren’t acceptable with this asking speed, particularly given their current scenario (there have been reports for some time now that Balaji is paying close attention to budgets and are presently not taking on any new pictures).
The budget discussions were ongoing between the two parties, but according to reports the movie is not being produced by Balaji anymore. However, when contacted, Balaji CEO Sameer Nair said, “The budget discussions are going on and the pre-production work has started. We are definitely doing the film.”
Still, our source maintains that Balaji is most likely not backing the film anymore, and other studios have began approaching Rhea Kapoor to bag the deal. We’ll need to await official word – we are told by our sources a statement will be released soon.
