A Shiv Sena MLA has asked the Maharashtra government to prevent the launch of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s forthcoming movie “Bajirao Mastani”. The movie Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra is scheduled to release on December 18.
Pratap Sarnaik, MLA in a memorandum submitted to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, from Thane district has encouraged him till the contentious, controversial scenes in the movie will not be cut, to not permit the launch of the movie.
“The movie be first shown to the legislators and after that simply the permission be allowed because of its release,” Sarnaik said.
“Fadnavis in his comments on the memorandum has requested the authorities to find proper advice after which take actions so,” an official from Chief Minister’s Office said.
The Sena legislator has alleged that lead actors in Deepika Padukone, the movie Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra have taken out a heavy cost for playing in the movie.
Sarnaik has paid no attention and further alleged that Bhansali has produced the movie just out of commercial concerns. Sarnaik claimed the Bollywood film isn’t being released in Maharashtra over India, but also in foreign nations.
“Therefore those people who are unaware of the actions of Bajirao Peshwa, Maratha history and Marathi culture is likely to be mislead into harbouring perverted view.
The Sena leader demanded that until and unless no appropriate guidance and directions will not be received in the heirs of Bajirao Peshwa (I) and historians, and the scenes which are causing pain to the Maharashtrian individuals will not be deleted, till afterward permission for the launch of the movie must not be allowed.
