OMG! Sheridan Smith denies being ‘drunk on stage’ as show is stopped after just 15 minutes

Sheridan Smith has denied after her West End show was halted she was drunk on stage. The performance of Funny Girl on Thursday evening was stopped after only 15 minutes afterward cancelled for “technical reasons” after a 40-minute delay.

Last night’s show with Miss Smith went ahead as scheduled last nighttime,. The theatre blamed the cancellation on technical difficulties.

But members of the audience claimed the issue may lie with Miss Smith, who appeared to be slurring her words.

The theatre and a spokesman for Miss Smith strongly denied she had been drinking, saying: “I have spoken to my client and this is categorically not true.”

A statement released by producers said the performance ‘had to be cancelled for technical reasons’.
