OMG SHOCKING! Here’s How Shahid Kapoor Got High For Udta Punjab

Shahid Kapoor plays a rockstar who indulges in substance abuse in Udta Punjab, but it appears that the actor had a difficult time connecting with that role since he’s a teetotaler – he does’t drink, and has seemingly never experienced a high from any form of material. But since he was determined to go into skin of the character, Shahid turned to the next best thing … java that was accessible to him! (Which he’s pretty much obsessed with anyhow.)

Apparently, Shahid OD would go through about eight to nine cups to get a “ high” before his shots, and ’d on java while shooting for this movie. He acknowledged this himself, saying:

“In the absence of alcohol and any kind of substance, what helped me to get the kind of high I needed for my character was coffee! I would drink several cups of coffee before giving those shots.”
