Chief Justice of Pakistan Anwar Zaheer Jamali on Friday rejected the authorities’s request to form a judicial commission to probe the Panama Newspapers leaks, Express News reported.

Announcing the conclusion, CJP Jamali said to be formed, a laws will have to be passed by the parliament.

He further added that the judicial commission cannot be formed until the problem of TORs is worked out.

The authorities in April wrote a letter to establish a commission to probe the Panama Documents leaks.

But the country had to await a month for the court’s answer as Supreme Court’s (SC) senior judge Justice Mian Saqib Nisar – who took oath as the temporary chief justice – said the verdict on the federal government’s request will be taken by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali after his return from Turkey.
