Playwright Laura Wade on Breakthrough Brits list


Playwright Laura Wade and Imitation Game star Alex Lawther are among those named on the Bafta Breakthrough Brits list of this year.

Her latest project, a stage version of Sarah Waters’ novel Tipping the Velvet, has completed in London.
Lawther and the young Alan Turing played with in the Imitation Game of last year’s.

He also co starred with Juliet Stevenson in the film Departure.

The list also includes Tess Morris, who composed the romantic comedy Man Up, starring Lake Bell, Simon Pegg and Rory Kinnear to screenwriter.

‘Terrified, humbled’

The grade is also made by celebrity Letitia Wright – she recently appeared in Banana on Channel 4 and E4 and Russell T Davies’s Cucumber.

Jenny Saunders, who co-developed and created BBC One documentary, Baby P: The Untold Story, is also named.
