A lawsuit has been filed against producer Mark Gordon, asserting that the thought for the American series was lifted from a 1999 documentary that aired on CNN.
Filmmakers Barbara Leibovitz Hellman and Jamie Hellman, Paula Paizes and business executive filed a 35-page charge on Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court that says the premise of the show was taken by Gordon The Making.

According to the complaint, the filmmakers were “granted unprecedented access to the FBI Academy” for their job, which followed a group of trainees through their 16-week programme.
Elaborating on the situation, it says that Paizes and Gordon formed a business relationship in 2001 and ushered him to the filmmakers later saying in a email that “they possess a whole lot of research and may get us inside Quantico along with the FBI”. The Quantico series follows a band of young FBI recruits fighting through training, inter-cutting between their concealed pasts as well as their current training, and additionally flashes-forward to the near future, where among the recruits will turn out to be a sleeper terrorist responsible for a devastating terrorist attack in the US.
