A sister and brother and the brother’s partner happen to be named as three of the four people killed within an Australian theme park accident.

Kate Goodchild and Luke Dorsett, 32 and 35, expired on Queensland’s Gold Coast on the Thunder River Rapids ride at Dreamworld on Tuesday, their mom said.

Mr Dorsett’s partner Roozbeh Araghi was also killed, the ABC reports, along with a girl from New Zealand.

Two children lived in what officials said was “practically a miracle”.

The park, one of Australia’s largest, is closed “forever” and an investigation is under way.

Visitors have already been placing floral tributes.

“We’re working closely with authorities to realize precisely what happened.”

Four adults, a 10-year-old boy and a 12-year old girl were on the raft when it flipped after reporters were told by a collision with another raft, Queensland assistant police commissioner Brian Codd.

The kids, who local media say were related to the sufferers, were thrown free and survived the episode, which Mr Codd described as “almost a miracle”.

While two were trapped in the machines, two of the adults were thrown in the raft.

The fourth casualty has been identified by media as Cindy Low, a 42-year old New Zealand-born Sydney resident.
