Scotland captain Greig Laidlaw considers his side will have ‘house’ edge when they undertake South Africa at St James’ Park tomorrow.
He explained: “I believe when we drive to the arena there is going to be a large support coming down from Scotland, and especially the Boundaries.
“Folks I’ve talked to in Scotland are all quite excited, and hopefully there will not be many folk left in the Edges for the weekend.”
Surpassing Japan in Gloucester as well as the USA in Leeds, Laidlaw said: “The support continues to be fantastic.
Even Scotland was being supported by the bulk.
“I believe the people are getting behind this team, one from the operation and two from your manner we’re rolling up our sleeves and getting put in. It definitely helps.”
Laidlaw said: “We’re distressed be eligible for the quarterfinals and, having put together two adequate performances, we’ve set ourselves in a great situation.
“We’re alert to the scenario but we can not get ahead of ourselves. ”
The Gloucester scrum half said: “I believe that is somewhat disrespectful to the players that have been chosen.
“We knew coming into the World Cup it would be a 31-guy attempt and you also want your squad.
“Lads are champing at the bit, particularly those that have not played. Simply wait and see our operation as an alternative to prejudge.”
Scotland’s record of getting never defeated South Africa away from dwelling is of little anxiety, Laidlaw saying: “we’re close enough to Scotland, so that wont stress us.
“There is plenty of Scottish support coming down here to Newcastle and boys believe we have been in a great area as players so when a squad.
