Dozens of trainee police officers are killed in a bomb attack on a police training center in Libya, based on news reports. As numerous police recruits were assembling the bomb, in a lorry parked outside the training center in the western city of Zliten, burst, mayor Miftah Lahmadi said.
Where coastguards are trained the truck crashed to the gate of the camp, local officials said.
‘We have information that a boat carrying strangers arrived in the town two days ago,’ said Siarj al-Rashdi, an official at the Zliten security directorate.
‘Yesterday we mounted a campaign to collect all strangers staying in the town illegally. But unfortunately, this did not stop the disaster.’
Zliten is a commercial town.
Town can also be regarded as a center for illegal migrants trying to reach Europe.
