Shahid’s exhusband Ahmed confessed to police that Shahid was strangled by him to departure with her own dupatta.
Mukhtar Kazim, her second husband, alleged that her family killed her as they disapproved of her union with him. Shahid’s father and ex husband both are in jail on judicial remand but have not yet been officially charged.
