Sadly, Deepika Padukone lost a Shah Rukh Khan film to Anushka Sharma thanks to Imtiaz Ali!
During Cocktail, Deepika Padukone had mentioned that Imtiaz Ali, who composed the film, suggested her to take the role of Veronica who had gray shades in her character as that will help her do something challenging. She was offered both the roles of Meera and Veronica. We all understand what happened. She overshadowed everyone in the movie. She’s the only performer the director has replicated in Love Aaj Kal, his pictures and Tamasha. But despite all that he’s the reason why Deepika lost out a Shah Rukh Khan film to Anushka Sharma. Blame it on her chemistry with the celebrity.
Based on Rajeev Masand’s column, Ali chose Anushka over Deepika because he believed way too many movies have been done by the latter with SRK. So as luck would have it, the performer did ’t make the transition because she did one picture more than Anushka with SRK. The Tamasha woman debuted with him in Om Shanti Om and followed it up with Chennai Express and Happy New Year while Anushka did her first film. It sounds a pretty strange rationale to us.
Additionally, it seems Tamasha had been offered by Imtiaz to Anushka but she did’t do the movie saying her character lacks meat. The director had then assured a really strong part in his next to her.
