Sadly Shah Rukh Khan pays Rs 1.93 lakh fine for illegal ramp

An RTI query has shown that Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan has paid Rs 1.93 lakh as the penalty for building an illegal ramp outside his bungalow Mannat in Mumbai.

The ramp was demolished along with the performer paid the expense of demolition to the municipal authorities.

RTI activist Anil Galgali said he’d sought information from Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) about actions taken on the illegally constructed RCC ramp outside the bungalow by Shah Rukh.

Galgali sought advice about the cost and payment received. In a response, the BMC’s Assistant Engineer (Inspection) of Bandra H West ward stated that the actor made the payment of Rs 1,93,784 vide a cheque issued on Citibank on March 11 last year to close the problem.

BMC had pulled down the illegal ramp on and issued a notice to Shah Rukh Khan on March 5 (2015), with a bill amounting to Rs 1.93 lakh in order to recover the demolition costs.

As per 1888, the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act, along with the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act, 1966, the BMC can regain the cost it incurs from the owner on demolition of any illegal building performed by the owner.
