The UN Security Council has strongly condemned an assault on the Saudi embassy in Tehran by protesters.
The statement made no reference of the execution of the cleric, Nimr al-Nimr.

The UN Security Council, in response to some letter that was Saudi, condemned the assault on another assault on a Saudi consulate and the embassy in Tehran .
It encouraged both sides to “keep conversation and take action to lessen tensions in the area”.
Nevertheless, it made no reference to the execution of Saudi Arabia on Saturday of Shia cleric Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr and 46 others as soon as they were convicted of terror-related offences.
