US rock band Eagles of Death Metal were not injured in the attack on their Paris concert, it’s been confirmed.

The band members were unhurt but there have been unconfirmed reports a crew member was among those killed.

On Friday, the group issued a brief Facebook statement saying: “Our thoughts are with all the people involved in this awful situation.”

Eagles of Death Metal were playing in the French capital as part of a European tour.

Homme had not been to the tour.

The group are expected to release a further statement later on.

Their support act Red Lemons posted a message saying: “Guys… I really don’t understand what to say. We are a lot more than blessed.”

They included: “Thinking about people who passed away and who were having such a love (sic) time & happiness together with all of us just a minute before.”

The group’s latest album Zipper Down reached number 32 in the UK and number 59 in the US Billboard chart. Their tunes are employed in advertisements for the likes of Nike, Acura and Microsoft.

U2 have cancelled their concert on Saturday in Paris.

The California-based rock band Eagles of Death Metal was in the midst of a European tour, marketing its fourth album release, when the musicians found themselves caught up in a terror assault at the Paris concert hall where they had begun to perform on Friday.

The Bataclan music hall was one of several entertainment sites around Paris targeted by gunmen and bombers who killed dozens of people in what President Francois Hollande described as an unprecedented terrorist assault.

Early indicators were that members of the group, which also goes by the acronym EODM, were all safe. The group was formed in the late 1990s by Josh Homme and lifelong friends Jesse Hughes, the only two long-term members of the group.
