Shell, Total Get First Foreign Gas Stations in Iran

Iran’s state TV is reporting that France’s Total and Royal Dutch Shell is going to be the first foreign firms to be permitted to run gasoline stations.

The Press TV English language station quotes the head of the filling stations union, Bijan Haj Mohammadreza in Iran, as saying 100 new permits have been issued to every firm.

Until now, the retail service stations that were sole belonged to the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company.

The arrangement comes after world and Iran powers reached a price in July that controls the Persian state’s contested atomic program in return for the lifting of economic sanctions that are international.
