SWEAR ATTACK! Prison officer injured after bomb explodes under van

A 52-year old guy, who’s a prison officer that is serving, continues to be taken to hospital following a bomb exploded under a van.

The event occurred at about 07:10 GMT on Friday. at Hillsborough Drive.

The officer’s injuries are considered to be serious but not life threatening.

The Woodstock Road was closed with Ravenhill Avenue and Omeath Street between its junctions.

Residents residing in the region were left perplexed and stunned.

He said the chance that it is actually a bomb “failed to enter his head” and he believed it was related to building work on the road.

“There’s no let up for prison officers, we can not live a regular life, we are not permitted to live a regular life by these thugs,” he said.
