Yesterday (May 25, 2016) was definitely one big day for Sonam Kapoor as the celebrity inaugurated the Kashish Film Festival with none besides the international star Sir Ian McKellen.

McKellen can also be a gay, who is known for his work in films such as ‘The Lord of the Rings’ and ‘The Hobbit’. He was presentalong with superstar Aamir Khan to discuss William Shakespeare at the MAMI Film Festival a few days back.

“I’m here for Kashish, and I’m here because I strongly believe in what this film festival stands for, that it’s a basic human rights.”

“It’s not about being lesbian, gay, female, male, transsexual, anything, it’s about being able to be who you want to be and somebody who is just themselves. I’m a strong supporter of basic human rights,” Sonam said.

Whereas, McKellen said, “I just want to say how happy I am to be at Kashish; it’s my first visit to Mumbai. I made many friends already and I hope this evening to make many more.”

“I’ve come to Mumbai to celebrate Shakespeare and to celebrate the connections between the United Kingdom and your country. And I’ve also come to support those who want to get rid of section 377 (which criminalizes homosexuality).”

Later, he added, “Whatever our sexuality, whatever our taste, we must all be treated equally. That is the world Nelson Mandela fought for. That is the future, I believe, Mahatma Gandhi dreamt of seeing.”

I understand it will be liked by people. We’ll adapt it to suit Indian sensibilities. It is one of my most favourite shows. I ‘m really excited,“ Anil said in a statement.

One has been sentenced to death for a crime he did not commit while the other devises an elaborate plan to help him escape and clear his name.

Sharing more about the show, Anil said: The show is about sibling love. It has just the correct amount of emotions and some mind blowing action. Before, movies like ‘Do Aankhen Barah Haath’ and ‘Umar Qaid’, which revolved around jailbreak, have been appreciated by the audience.”

Anil is currently busy shooting for the second instalment of “24”.

Will he be part of “Prison Break”?

“I’d love to be part of the show but my whole focus is on ’24’ right now. I’ve a few names in your mind. We will begin casting soon. It will likely be made on exactly the same scale as ’24’.”

Anil’s production house has purchased the rights to season one of “Prison Break”. Season two will be underway after comments to the first part is in.

We ‘ll start planning the show as soon as I wrap up shooting for ’24’. I would like to take it on the floors as soon as possible,” he added.

Sonam and Rhea are enjoying their time at the Cannes Film festival that is ongoing. But that is certainlyn’t the only thing which is making the women happy.

If the report in a tabloid will be to be believed afterward, Sonam’s sister Rhea is set to tie the knot. Supposedly, Karan’s parents recently flew down to Mumbai from Delhi and officially met with Rhea’s parents – actor Anil Kapoor and wife Sunita. They have finalized everything and December has been picked for the wedding, that will occur in Mumbai.

There have already been rumours about Arjun Kapoor‘s relationship and Jacqueline Fernandez. The performers have always denied them but this time, Jacqueline certainly addressed the rumours within an interview with TOI.She spoke about her best friend Sonam Kapoor and her relationship with Arjun. She said:

“Sonam never tried to set me up with Arjun, it was one of those lovely rumours. Sonam was one of the first people I met in the industry and from childhood she knows everyone here. So naturally, she introduced me to all of them. She has introduced me to Arjun and Varun, too. We are a group of friends now, and when these articles come out its really funny. We wonder which idiot opened his mouth, and did something silly or dumb. The good thing about having friends in the industry is that we also know what is going on in reality, so Arjun and I still joke about it. We say, ‘Oh, we just heard we broke up!’ Clarifying rumours with the person concerned is the most important thing, the rest don’t count. Luckily, I have that equation with most of them to do that. Right now, the only love of my life is Mew Mew, and she’s ignoring me.”
