Salman Khan’s double avatar in Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Shah Rukh Khan’s Dilwale might have created ripples in the Indian box office, but both the pictures are now competing to catch the Worst Movie prize in the 8th Annual Golden Kela Awards.

Other pictures vying for the prize are “Bombay Velvet”, “Shaandaar” and “Singh is Bliing”.The yearly award ceremony recognizes the worst that Bollywood had to offer in the year 2015. The voting is open at www.goldenkela.com till March 30, as well as the service will happen at India Habitat Centre here next month, read a statement.

You read it right! Shahrukh Khan has taken the obligation of the lousy box office range of Dilwale and has returned the distributers of the movie 50 percent of the money.

On microblogging website Twitter famous commerce analyst Komal Nahata affirmed the news and composed, “@iamsrk does what few wud do. Refunds 50% of the loss of distributors of his Dilwale. That’s what u call a considerate producer!”

Before there was a news that even Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor returned 15 Crores to the producers of Tamasha beacuse the film failed to perform well at the box office that is Indian.

Now Shahrukh Khan has returned 50 percent of the cash to the distributers for Dilwale.Trade analyst Kumar Mohan additionally affirmed the news and told First Post, “I appreciate whatever Shahrukh has done. If the film doesn’t do well, why always the distributor should face losses.”

”It’s a big step from Shahrukh’s side and I believe this will turn into a practise. I am not saying it will become a trend but this should come into practice,” he said.

Shahrukh Khan also confessed in one of his interviews, “I do not believe the film has done as well as it should have. I am personally disappointed with that.”

The celebrity farther added, “To be honest, it’s maybe not done at the same time in India as I ‘d like it to do. But abroad it has done well in a lot of nations like Germany, Austria. It is rather thrilling that Indian films are reaching far and wide. There’s lots of business opportunities.”

Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon’s Dilwale opened with a bang when it released on December 18, but it had been steadily declining since the first Monday itself. This week it saw a huge fall in occupancy and collections but it continued to rake in the moolah at a very slow pace. The film had ended week 2 at just Rs 133.87 crore . The film has now added another Rs 7.71 crore in the third weekend.

It added Rs 3.41 crore on this Friday, Rs 1.90 crore on Sunday and Rs 2.40 crore on Sunday, to take its total collection to Rs 141.58 crore at the end of the third weekend at the domestic box office. While it was expected that the film would cross the Rs 150 crore by the end of the 3rd weekend, it didn’t happen because of the sharp drop in week 2. As trade analyst Taran Adarsh revealed in his tweet, “#Dilwale Week 1: 102.65 cr. Week 2: 31.22 cr. Week 3: Fri 3.41 cr, Sat 1.90 cr, Sun 2.40 cr. Grand total: Rs 141.58 cr. India biz.”

The film has performed very well at the International box office too earning near about Rs 150 crore. It has created a few records in the overseas markets, however no such luck over here in India. With mixed reviews, less public interest and a bad word of mouth publicity, the film is expected to see a dip again today and may be out of majority of the theatres by Friday when the Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar-starrer, Wazir releases.

Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale that launch on December 18, 2015 is performing well at the box office overseas. The film, which has made gross worldwide INR 273.5 crores, has done fantastic in the foreign market.

The Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon starrer has crossed the groups of PK, Happy New Year and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo in UAE, where it collected $6.3 million, which is third all time greatest in just 10 days.

I Malaysia, Dilwale has amassed $4,00,000 to become the best grosser in 10 days whereas in United Kingdom, the movie is the second highest grosser and will get around 2.2-2.3 million pounds!

The Overseas total of Dilwale in 10 days $16.75 million which amounts to a whopping INR 110.83 crores.
