Actress Katrina Kaif and her Fitoor co star as showstoppers for celeb designer Tarun Tahiliani’s Springtime Summer group showcased here Aditya Roy Kapur stunned. Walking the ramp of “Looking for Love” by Chromatics, Katrina, 32, was nothing less than an angelic beauty in a pearl white saree gown with Aditya complementing her in an elegant sherwani from Tahiliani?s line inspired by Kutch desert tribes.
“Tarun is the primary designer I worked with. We share a very long and amazing relationship. He’s extremely special. I was his campaign girl. We have really great memories and it?s nice to walk the ramp for him. After a lot of years we’re back together. Tarun’s work is all admired by us. The practice of not giving up, his superiority, his details. He is awesome,” the ‘Bang Bang’ celebrity said. Joining dash and delicacy, the hand crafted collection by the designer was all about fantasy and romance.
But with this particular collection I needed to present a modern take on the drapes, lehengas, sarees, anarkalis. I liked to present contemporary voice of India. I needed to keep it light and easy,” Tahiliani said. The collection which had everything from a gown, to dress, to saree gown, to suits had designer’s signature Swarovski usage.
The sway of Kutch may be viewed in the borders of scarves and capes and also in the waist bands. Apart from simple silhouettes, the line also had critical use of lines and feel. What made the 2016 set stand out were the attached dupattas. The group had a bohemian feel, that was plainly visible in the apt mix of craftsmanship and couture with original embellishments and digital prints.
