The 43 forces recorded only under 100,000 sex offences in total, the highest amount since the present system of reporting started in 2003.
Recorded individually, 39% increased year-on-year as well as other sex crimes 35%.

Authorities Minister Mike Penning said: “We continue to observe a rise in police recording of violent and sexual offenses.
The Office for National Statistics is clear that this rise represents developments in a willingness of victims to come as well as recording practice – this is. We’re also supplying substantially greater transparency once they are reported to law enforcement about what goes on to offenses.
“The Government has made reducing violence, including knife offense, a precedence and continues to work closely together with law enforcement as well as other organisations to undertake the motorists of the offenses.”
