An eight-year-old girl has been pulled alive in the debris of an apartment building in Taiwan more than 60 hours after an earthquake ruined it. As they rushed against time to locate over 100 residents rescuers in Tainan City freed two other survivors before on Monday.
At least 38 people died in the magnitude 6.4 quake on Saturday.One of those saved was a girl located lying underneath her husband’s body. Their infant son was found dead nearby. The girl, Tsao Wei-ling, was conscious and was taken to hospital.
Rescuers said it seemed she had been shielded by her husband’s body from a falling column. Five of the couple’s family members stay missing, Taiwan’s government-run Central News Agency reported.A man rescued on Monday had been speaking to rescuers through the night.
