After the bodies of four people were dug up on Sunday, a graveyard in Mallampatti village near Melur, Madurai is thronging with individuals and authorities in the village. M Sevakodiyon, who allegedly worked at PRP Granites as a driver, has alleged that a human sacrifice had been performed by the owners of PRP.

According to a report in The Hindu, the owners of the quarry made a human sacrifice of two mentally disabled individuals in 1999 and buried them there. The bones were recovered by law enforcement with garments and sent them to forensics.

It’s yet to be determined whether it is human sacrifice, say the authorities.

Legal Commissioner, the High Court U Sagayam, who had been appointed by the High Court for the investigation of illegal granite mining in Madurai, ordered the exhumation of the bodies.
