The PPP chairman demanded that the authorities accept the mega scandal to be investigated by opposition’s bill.

The bill in the Senate had moved seeking creation of a commission to probe under the conditions of reference proposed by the opposition into the Panama leaks.

A PPP source told Daily Times that a meeting of PPP leadership determined to raise the Panama leaks problem in front of the PM, adding that Bilawal told the APC that Panama leaks dilemma needs to be completely investigated.

Then Panama problem should be investigated in a way that was transparent If we need unity on all national problems and the authorities must support the bill of opposition tabled in the parliament,” the PPP chairman said.

Sources said Bilawal’s address made the PM uneasy. After the APC, sources said, Bilawal met with Nawaz. Opposition Leader in Senate Aitzaz Ahsan and Opposition Leader in Sherry Rehman, Qamar Zaman Kaira and National Assembly Khursheed Shah were also present. In the assembly, Bilawal raised the corruption problem and linked it.

Nawaz assured he would research the opposition’s bill, as a transparent investigation was wanted by the government.

“ Yes, the prime minister listened to our point of view and we were assured this problem will be discussed after Muharram and the PM is prepared to sit with our team,” Bilawal told reporters after the meeting.

He added that if the government didn’t agree with the opposition’s bill afterward his party would announce its line of action.

The PTI is in the opposition so opposition can be kept joined and they should consult with us,” Bilawal said.

Sources said Bilawal also raised the China-Pakistan Economic Hallway (CPEC) issue and said former president and his father Asif Ali Zardari was the architect of this national project, but the PPP has serious reservations on the advancement of CPEC as some provinces are being dismissed. On this PM Nawaz again looked defensive and he guaranteed the PPP chairman that the PPP’s bookings on CPEC would be addressed.
