Two journalists who worked in Hong Kong on political magazines have been jailed in mainland China after they caught running an illegal business.

Editor Guo Zhongxiao and publisher Wang Jianmin worked on New- Multiple Face and Manner Monthly, which printed gossipy news related to the leaders.

Copies were sent to the mainland, although the posts were printed in Hong Kong, which has greater media independence.

They were detained in Shenzhen in 2014, and both men pleaded guilty.

Wang was jailed for three months and five years, while Guo was jailed for three months and two years and is anticipated to be released shortly for time.
