Video footage from Thursday’s concert in Edmonton reveals that singer, whose real name is Marvin Lee Aday, falling during his performance on stage. He previously cancelled shows in Calgary and Moose Jaw, saying he was not well.

The 68-year old is among the most successful recording artists of time with hits including Bat Out of Hell.
Musicians went to his side and the music ceased.

A spokesman for Alberta Health Services said a patient was transported from the auditorium into a hospital.

Fans said they considered his collapse could have been a planned part of his performance, the Edmonton Journal newspaper reported.

The Northern Jubilee Auditorium in Edmonton was cleared soon after and ambulances were seen outside the site, the newspaper said.

Meat Loaf’s record Bat Out of Hell has sold more than 43 million copies worldwide and continues to sell an estimated 200,000 copies per annum almost 40 years after it was released.
