Young childern Rape in New Delhi attacks
Two young girls – a toddler along with a five -year-old – have already been raped in different strikes in New Delhi, authorities said, in the most recent episodes of sexual violence against girls as well as women in India.
A two-and-a-half-year-old girl who was playing outside her dwelling was raped in a west Delhi suburb on Friday said Delhi police deputy superintendent Pushpendra Kumar.
Family members found the child lying unconscious and bleeding in a park three hours after she went missing during a power outage in the neighbourhood.
No arrests have been made by authorities on the episode.
Meanwhile, cops said they were questioning three men detained within the gang-rape of the five-year old on Friday evening in east Delhi.
The rapes happened a week following a four-year old girl was discovered dumped near a railway track after being raped and slashed using a blade.
A run of recent attacks has revived dread and public fury over India’s inability to halt girls and long-term violence against women.
In December 2012, the fatal gang-rape of a 23-year old medical student on a moving bus led to a national outcry.
The National Crime Records Bureau in India says more than 2,000 girls and women were raped in New Delhi.
