The owners of Australia’s Dreamworld theme park have announced they are going to demolish the water ride last month where four people were killed.
Dreamworld, on Queensland’s Gold Coast, has been shut since the tragedy on 25.
The company says it is not going to reopen until an independent safety review was completed.
Kate Goodchild, 32, perished alongside his associate, 35, brother Luke Dorsett, Roozbeh Araghi, 38, and Cindy Low, 42.
Dreamworld CEO Craig Davidson said every ride was getting a thorough safety test.
“From today, we’ll start to go towards the re-opening of Dreamworld,” he told reporters on Wednesday.
“Please be assured that as we start this process, families who lost their nearest and dearest will remain our first and foremost focus.”
Family and friends have paid tribute at a number of funeral ceremonies to all four victims in the last week.
The company also indicated the victims’ families would be invited to help create a “appropriate and long-term” memorial.
